One Night to Find a Husband: My Whirlwind Marriage Landed the Richest Man

Chapter 6: My Mysterious Husband Is the Richest Man

Shengshi Group. Top-floor conference room.

The capital is home to four paramount aristocratic clans—the Li, the Nan, the Mo, and the He. Each commands absolute dominion over its respective domain, and for many years they have been hailed as four soaring dragons ascending to the heavens.

Yet just five years ago, a company called Shengshi Group burst onto the scene, aggressively expanding its commercial empire through the thunderous tactics of suppression and acquisition.

Its business interests spanned a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, finance, physical manufacturing, high-precision electronic equipment, and artificial intelligence, and within just a few short years it had grown into a multinational conglomerate capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the Four Great Families.

But the most mysterious thing about Shengshi Group was the shadowy boss pulling the strings behind it all!

It was said that the boss never appeared in public. No one knew whether he was a man or a woman, and no one knew how old he was. All anyone knew was that the person Shengshi had put forward as its public-facing representative was called Mo Yao…

And today, the legendary big boss of Shengshi Group had actually come to the company!

"Tell me, who exactly is this boss of ours who never shows his face?"

"He's definitely being propped up by some foreign consortium. From what I've observed, the boss operates with a ruthless, seasoned hand — conservatively speaking, he's probably some middle-aged man upwards of forty-five…"

"That's hard to say. On the surface, the boss handed full authority over to Mo Yao — but someone who'd put that kind of trust in such a young confidant… could just as easily be an older woman, who knows…"

Inside the conference room, countless senior executives of the group were whispering among themselves — for no other reason than that every one of them was consumed with curiosity about the mysterious boss who had employed them for years.

Clunk, clunk.

In the corridor outside the conference room, the crisp sound of leather shoes clicking against the marble floor drifted in.

Whoosh!

The next second, the front door was pushed open.

A tall, imposing frame clad in a crisply tailored suit strode in, trailed by Mo Yao, Executive Vice President and the President's personal special assistant.

The entire hall instantly erupted in a wave of sharp indrawn breaths, thrown into utter uproar.

"Why is it him?"

"Good heavens, this man looks so familiar — I feel like I've seen him at some banquet before…"

"You all know him? Just who is he?"

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is a pleasure to meet you all in person. Allow me to introduce myself — my name is Li Bochen, the fourth young master of the Li family, and the man behind Shengshi Group. From here on out, Shengshi Group and I will be counting on each and every one of you."

Li Bochen's long legs covered the distance in a few unhurried strides, taking him straight to the head of the conference table, where he settled into his seat with effortless elegance.

His bearing was noble and elegant, a faint smile resting at the corners of his lips — yet when those hawk-sharp eyes swept across the crowd, every soul present felt the weight of an invisible pressure bearing down upon them.

Everyone instantly sat bolt upright, their thoughts turning to the rumors surrounding the Li family——

Rumor had it that the Li family's fourth young master was a good-for-nothing rake — debauched and dissolute — who, six years ago, had wronged his young sister-in-law and been driven abroad by the Li family patriarch in a fit of rage.

Yet no one could have anticipated that, within a mere five years, he would establish a vast commercial empire no less formidable than the Li Group itself!

The senior executives were struck by the stark contrast, each one rising solemnly to their feet and bowing in greeting: "Welcome back, President. We look forward to your leadership of the Group."

Li Bochen gave a slight nod. "I am very satisfied with the results we have achieved over the past five years. Please, everyone, take your seats."

Only then did the executives dare to take their seats. Those of a more timid disposition found, to their own dismay, that their backs had been soaked through with sweat.

This mysterious boss looked nothing at all like the legendary Fourth Young Master of the Li family!

Next, the meeting officially commenced.

Chaired by Assistant Mo, the two hours slipped by unnoticed — from reviewing the past to looking ahead at the future, and finalizing the Group's annual priority projects.

Li Bochen was swift and decisive, placing an extreme premium on efficiency at work. After more than two hours of focused meetings, everyone found their perception of him upended once again.

Finally, Assistant Mo took the floor to deliver a closing summary, adding a reminder: "Director Li hopes that his identity remains a mystery to the outside world. I trust you all know what to do?"

"Yes, we will keep this absolutely secret!" The executives gathered their meeting documents and shuffled out, trembling.

Li Bochen watched the retreating figures as they departed, then raised his cup and took a quiet sip.

Assistant Mo pulled the conference room door shut and said respectfully, "These people probably never dreamed, even in their wildest imaginings, that the once-notorious fourth young master of the Li family would one day reinvent himself as the man behind Shengshi Group. And yet — you can't wrap fire in paper. The moment you show your face, word will reach the Li family sooner or later…"

Li Bochen was unmoved, a cold glint shifting within his eyes. "I've been lying low for far too long—it's time to loosen up a bit."

"Then let things take their natural course. I believe that everything you lost back then will, one by one, find its way back to you…"

Li Bochen's lips curved into a faint smile. His phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket.

Catching a glimpse of the number flashing on the screen, he glanced at Assistant Mo, who immediately read the room and excused himself.

Li Bochen swiped to answer. A woman's voice reached his ear, carrying a faint tremor of unease. "Hello — is this Li Bochen?"

Li Bochen's gaze turned playful. "Be good—call me husband."
